Notes

For a long time I have wanted to make an embellished sweater. I was worried of the weight of the add-ons and decided to crochet the fabric as it makes a firm back ground.

I crocheted from the top down, began with a small hook and after I had completed short rows for the back, I changed to the main hook, 4 mm and used that until the end. My stitch pattern is linked double crochets (Am.).

I added some patchwork for the sleeves with buttons. There can never be too many buttons! Appliqued few wool flowers to the hem, I had more than three prepared, but somehow three seemed to be enough.

There is little lace band peeking from under the hem.

The shape is a-line, the back is wider than the front. Little stand-on collar with a bow in the back.

The feel of the fabric is good, it has just the right amount of drape to feel comfortable.

I used old stash yarn, did not dare to use my treasures, as I was worried that this would not work out… so there is different dyelots which are visible…

While making this, I was thinking that this would be my Yarndale or Rhinebeck sweater, if I was going. I am not going, have never been to either of them, but I will dream of going one day…
