Woooohoooo! The blossom chart is completed! I’m happy and looking forward to the edging chart. Got 417 stitches at the moment and I first want to calculate the stitch count for the first edging chart before continuing knitting.

Just finished the 6th repetition of the blossom chart. Right now, I’m kind of frustrated. The repetitions aren’t very exciting any more.

I didn’t have too much time these last days, so I couldn’t really knit very much. Finished the third blossom chart repeat, though.

Finished the transition chart. My advice: calculate in advance how many stitches you should have and count them after each row! It makes things easier.
So I’m now at 225 sts. The shawl is 60 cm wide.

Began the transition chart today. The first three rows (I’m not counting backside rows!) were the same as in the star chart and easy.
Row nr 4 and 5 were much harder and it wasn’t easy to calculate the amount of sts I should have.
I then calculated the sts’ count for the rest of the transition chart so I could be sure I would end up with the required amount.
It’s a strange thing to knit 9 sts out of 2 … and ‘SssK’ is driving me nuts. That’s really hard to knit!

Finished off the star chart. I’m glad I finally made it - even with right amount of stitches! :)

Wow, that wasn’t a bad day. Finished the star chart for the fifth time. It’s a really good idea to calculate how many stitches you should have after each row and then count the stitches. In the star section, each row gets longer by 8 sts each (4 for one side of the pattern). If I hadn’t done that, I don’t think I’d have the right amound of stitches by now (which is btw 197 sts).

Just finished the star chart for the fourth time. Each row is getting longer and longer and progress isn’t as fast as it was. I just hope I won’t lose my motivation. 165 sts / row.

I just finished the star chart for the third time. Right now one realizes that each right-side row gets longer by 8 sts, but that’s fine. I calculated how many stitches I should have in each row of the star chart and by now I’m still on the right track (having 133 sts atm).

I found the beginning rather confusing, but somehow managed it anyway. Have progressed through the set-up-chart and have just finished the first time of the star-chart. 5 more times to go.
Set-Up-Chart and Star-Chart are much easier than anticipated. :)

I’ve never done anything like this before.
Of course I do know how to knit and several years earlier I knitted some lace, but those projects were not nearly as big as this one and I guess not that hard as well.
Any help is appreciated.
Yesterday I ordered my yarn, today I got the message that it was shipped. Hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow.
