8/10/2013: I started this project with another pattern that involved placing beads. I had trouble with the technique (probably a combination of issues with bead size and needle size), and decided to knit a tried-and-true basic sock instead, with a twisted rib pattern.

8/17/2013: CO 64 st.

9/15/2013: I’ve started a sweater project so will be focusing on other things for a while. I’ll use this for “on the go” knitting, when I need something small.

12/31/2013: Still working on the first sock. I brought it with me on vacation and it came in handy on the plane but I didn’t do much knitting on the beach!

1/19/2014: First sock finished.

3/26/2014: After spending time on other projects, I took these on a trip and logged some knitting time on the airplane.

7/14/2014: I’m tired of these sitting on the needles, not getting any attention. And I just bought yarn for two more projects. So I decided to buckle down and finish these. At this point I’ve worked through the heel flap and am nearly finished with the heel itself. The rest of the sock should go quickly if I can stick with it.

7/22/2014: Finished. There’s no reason these should take 11 months to knit. I was just bored with socks and spent more time knitting sweaters.

Postscript In my zeal to finish this project, I did too much in too short a time and ended up with tendonitis in my left wrist that took months to heal. Lesson learned!
