This is a really stunning vest with a great fit , perfect for those autumn days. The fun little bit of stairs pattern gives just the extra piece of interest visually and of course adds more warmth. I knit mine in some old favourite I had reclaimed from unworn knitwear and I’m so glad I did. The fade really integrates this piece into my wardrobe of browns and khaki , and also works well with my firm favourites in black .
As I have mentioned the fit is super cozy and comfortable, and just enough ease to create an elegant picture .

I absolutely love these colours
I started in the palest of blues ; holding Yama colour salty air (merino mohair sock ) with a Yama vintage merino/linen ( mermaiden) and a thread of mohair.
I knit this as main colour from top down and then slowly faded in another vintage colourway Shield maidens (merino worsted)

My contrast colour is a lovely rich chocolate brown from Yama (merino single) held with intense Aubegine (Yama plum mohair) and a black fingering weight from Scheepjies ( whirlette in colour liquorice)
