Notes

Pattern gauge 25st by 31 rows in 10cm

This gorgeous pattern is the perfect early Spring / Autumn knit, to keep you cosy while the days still have a bit of a chill.

I knit mine in soft autumn shades for the season we are now entering in Southern Africa.
I used a selection of my favourite SA hand-dyers.

Yardage
Total sweater 314g
MAIN COLOURS
Salty air 188g( pale blue)
Sandalwood 56g ( golden orange)
Lepidoptera mohair 64g ( brown with icey blue shimmer sparkles) stems/ dot detail, anything in the grey/ brown colour ( I held three threads of this mohair together for sweater detail but only two threads for cuffs/ hem/ collar)
CONTRAST COLOUR
yarn 6g!
A light fingering weight; the variegated red flowers( colourway is ‘tin roof’ ) held with a single thread of mohair.
3 shades were used plum, cherry red and mauve mohair to create the fade revolving_hearts

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NECKLINE
Wishbone yarns ‘Love child’ held double.
Cast on stitches for neckline with 3.5 (mine is .5mm bigger than my body needle. Cast on stitch number is specific to your size,)
Alternate ktbl & p to desired length.
Mine is about 25cm.
Then I went down a needle size to begin instructions for top of sweater.

YARN COLOURS
The soft, luxurious neckline is Wishboneyarns Love Child as I have mentioned, in colourway Lepidoterra. I held this double, for the neckline and triple in the body. This colourway is all the brown in my colourwork, eg, the flower stems and dragonflies.
My main colour is a gorgeous blend of merino and mohair from Yama yarn. The colourways sandalwood for the lower half ( warm golden brown)and Sea salt for the upper half and hem (pale blue)

My contrast colours are;
tin roof - dark plum / pink variegated (Miss la Motte)
Miss la motte hand spun Rusted Chair

MODIFICATIONS
The neckline as previously discussed.
Some embroidery on the body and slightly cropped to fit my son’s partners body measurements revolving_heartssparkles
Hem, and cuffs ribbing are all knitted in alternating ktbl and purl .
