I cast this on as written, but soon realized that it was going to be way bigger than I needed, so I frogged and re-CO 40 sts (5 triangles). I think this will be much more manageable, and maybe allow me to get away with only two skeins of 506.

9/11/14 Grabbed another skein off eBay… I’m so glad… I think this will be nicer as a longer shawl.
10/2/14 Just joined the third skein and cut yarn in the three different colors for the fringe. 44 one yard long pieces, 22 for each end.
10/11/14 Blocking now. It measures 19 inches by 54 inches before border and fringe.
10/13/14 I added a single crochet border all the way around using leftover yarn. I think it adds a finished look to the edge without taking away from the rustic feeling.
10/14/14 Tying the fringe is quite tedious, but I like the results. I’m using a thin plastic pipe to help me tie a bit more evenly.
1/3/15 Happy New Year! I’ve been keeping this over the back of my rocking (knitting) chair, and it has been perfect to throw over my shoulders when I knit. It has been a chilly winter!
