Loved this very striking heart pattern for a baby blanket. I substituted Red Heart Yarns from my overflowing stash for the Bernat Baby Velvet and am happy with the results. I decided to add lots of colors, six in all!! I also think that using only two colors perhaps with white as the main color and a darker, colorful variegated as the contrast color would be smashing!

Using stitch markers to separate the pattern repeats in the mosaic work was essential to my sanity until I got used to the pattern and then, although it was not a quick knit, it became a comforting knit.
