This was a quick knit; I completed the handle & rim yesterday and completed the bowl section today. Next: weaving in ends, felting, and blocking.

Other Ravelers who have made this basket in Noro Kureyon note that Kureyon doesn’t always felt easily, and they also mention issues with getting the basket and handle to hold their shape and not be too floppy.

Given these factors, I made some changes to the original pattern:

• I used a much tighter gauge so that even the un-felted basket would be a little stiff. I hope that this will result in a good solid bowl and firm handle after felting and blocking.
• Since my gauge was small (and Kureyon is fewer wpi than the yarn in the original pattern), I added one extra purl round and one extra knit round for the handle before working the applied I-cord so that the handle wouldn’t come out too skinny after felting.
