Notes

As soon as I saw this sweater, I knew I had to have it. I wanted it in a lighter color, but I had this in my stash. I’m in between sizes, so I’m going to make the S and block it slightly larger. Hoping to finish by November 6.

(These notes refer to the first version of the pattern, 10.20)

I had to start over at least 6 times because I thought I was doing something wrong, but it seems there are errors with Row 7 on the Center Panel chart.

Here’s what I did for Size S Center Panel:
For Row 15 (Row 7 on chart), on the first repeat of what’s between the blue/red lines: yo, k2, k2tog. On the second repeat between the green/green lines, ssk, k2, yo. Then you will end with 87 sts.

For Row 23 (Row 7 on chart), on the first and second repeat of what’s between the blue/red lines: yo k2, k2tog. On the second and third repeat between the green/green lines, ssk, k2, yo. Then you will end with 97 sts.

For Row 31 (Row 7 on chart), on the first, second, third repeat of what’s between the blue/red lines: yo k2, k2tog. On the second, third, fourth repeat between the green/green lines, ssk, k2, yo. Then you will end with 103 sts.

I had a hard time with the blocking dimensions as well because the numbers didn’t add up. It didn’t make sense to me, but I haven’t had much experience with blocking sweater pieces. I ended up blocking the bottom edge to 20”.

10.25
I’m really enjoying knitting this. I think it will be the first sweater for myself that I actually finish!

10.28
LOVE this. I did 9 repeats of the edging, and ended on the 3rd row of the 10th. It came out to 7”, which works out since I want it a bit bigger. I tried it on without the sleeves, and it fits like a glove.

10.29
First sleeve done. There’s a few areas that don’t really lay flat, but hopefully that will sort itself out once I block it.

11.05
Now it is blocking. I would’ve finished this a week ago, but I just started pastry school and it hasn’t been touched since the 29th.

11.06
Put a fan on to dry this overnight, put on buttons. I just laid it flat to dry and it is a tiny bit snug to button closed, but I prefer to leave it open. No one commented on this at the party I wore it to, so maybe no one realized I knit it? :) Haven’t had a chance to take pictures yet, will do this weekend.
