This dress was a labour of love. Mary Eleanor was my Great Aunt, who we all called Ciss as she was my Granddad’s older sister. She was a tough woman who built munitions during the 2nd world war and worked all her life.
She never had children and cared for her elderly mother, my Great Gran. But, she was more than a Mum to her nephew’s, all five of them and adored all of their kids. She never liked her given name, preferring Ciss or Cissie, but I always loved it. This one’s for you, Ciss.

The dress is sized from 6mths to 7 yrs approx. I used Patons 100% Cotton DK in two colours, but you could go with white or cream for a special occasion. It would work with other yarns, Stylecraft Special DK would be an affordable alternative or a superwash merino would be awesome (but you’d need to do a washed and blocked swatch as superwash yarn grows a lot).

Sizes: 6-12 months, 1-2yrs, 2-3yrs, 4-5 yrs, 6-7yrs.
