~  Iceland Summer 2016  ~ 

in east Iceland, in a small town on an outer fjord~ Seyðisfjörður ~ i unexpectedly found my first wool in a market!!.. my husband was in the car while i ran in for something entirely different…so i chose quickly (other wise would have been more overwhelmed than i already was! all the léttlopi and plötulopi in the market!!) i picked colors i’d been seeing on our ring road drive (all the way around the island)…frostbite, mustard, straw and lagoon.

then i realized i didn’t bring the appropriate needle, so do remember that if you go and want to knit straight away. not every market carries needles, even if there is wool next to the dish soap :)

it took 2 more days before we found the place (a bigger market) that sold needles (and pattern books and notions) and i cast on finally.

began in the east fjords, finished in the west fjords, my icelandic summer ring road shawl.
