Tried doing as pattern stated for needle size but they came out way too big for my UK size 5 feet. Changed to a 4mm needle and the fit was better but loose around the back of the heal. I will try to decrease the stitches at each end of the needle next time.

I made these straight but on circular needle & for the closing I pulled the wire out from the toe end and did a 3 needle cast off. This gave a nice finish and din’t show the seam underneath
