Notes

This is going to be an amazing souvenir of my trip to London, where I went a little overboard in the haberdashery at Liberty.

A truly gorgeous pattern, but slow-going as I’m not as fast at purling in fairisle as I’d like.

March 27th - my speed is picking up, thanks to backwards knitting - sooo much faster than fairisle purling. It’s also keeping my tension nice & loose - no puckering at all, which has always been a problem for me with stranded colourwork.

August 31st - this project was set aside for the summer as it was just too hot to deal with! Today it’s raining for the first time in ages & I’ve picked it up again.

Jan 28th - This was hibernating for ages as I debated the edging & slowly wove in all the ends! I have some lovely chocolate brown French velvet ribbon that I may use to line the edging, gilding the lily be damned.

Feb 19th - I’m ridiculously happy, although I feel as though I’ve just knit a bedspread! It’s lovely & soft & feels amazing & it’s just cold enough to get lots of use & it colour coordinates perfectly with my favourite amber earrings!
