Started winding the warp on April 5, and beaming/threading April 6.
Aiming for 22” in the reed, so two bouts of 11”; 4+ yd warp.
Much learning about profile drafts, Summer and Winter, and skeleton tie-ups. Advanced excel was employed to work out the number of heddles required for each shaft. The original proposed tie-up, via Tim’s Treadle Reducer was ok, but the one from Hilary at weaving class was much better. (Read the blog posting).
Found a threading error, and thought I fixed it, but I didn’t. So the rightmost flower is one block wider on one side.
As I was using the 8/2 held double for the pattern weft, I tried with a double bobbin shuttle. Didn’t work out so well, so I’ve fallen back on winding two threads together. (Strangely enough, the double bobbin shuttle technique is working well on my other project).
The main challenges at this point are selvages and beating square. Three pattern repeats into towel #1.

After finishing #1, as I did not like the way the selvedges were going, I pulled them out and am relying solely on a floating selvedge. Looks much better. Contemplating the tarp hooks and weights temple.

Constructed the tarp clip and fishing weight temple. It helped.
Playing Warp Chicken at the end but got it done without skipping any blocks.
This is a VERY DENSE fabric.
