The course of tablet weaving does not run smoothly. I noticed that thread 20 was the wrong orientation, so flipped that before threading. The pattern didn’t say what the threading order was, so I assumed A on top, proceeding downward to D. (Insert forboding music). Got it threaded and warped. Started, found a mis-threaded card and fixed it.

Colors are showing up properly, but it looks wrong. The underside looks better. After staring at it, I realized the threads were slanting the wrong way.

The cards were threaded correctly S and Z. I flipped them all, just to see what would happen. Not what I wanted.

Flipped them back, and worked out a start point (B-C) for the pattern which gave me the desired result on the back side. (7F-7B, btw).

The only thing I can think that went wrong is that the tablets are threaded with A on the bottom?

Success! Flipped the warp over, and doing 7F, 7B.

And complete. 22” from a 54” warp. I figure 10” were cut off when I fixed the incorrectly threaded card; maybe another 12+ inches in fringe. Need to wind a longer warp next time.

For future, and for education - the original pattern was created with GTT, which rather than threading the cards A B C D clockwise, threads them A B C D COUNTER clockwise.

Flipping over the cards after threading them gets one to the desired picture. Also, re-entering the pattern in another tablet weaving program also helps.
