I’m following the Wide Scarf directions using the Wrap needle sizes and an Aran weight yarn.
Specs:
- 8 Ribbed Hem Repeats (16 rows)
- 10 full repeats per half, plus 1 partial repeat per half per the pattern)

Ribbing and first repeat finished

I’m just under 5.5 repeats in and the first ball is finished.
01-21-2017
10 repeats done and I’m nearly done with ball #2.
01-23-2017
11 repeats done.

12 repeats done, second ball added just 2 rows shy of finishing the repeat.
1 ball = just a few rows shy of 7 repeats

So, I’m a dummy. I was just knitting away, happily enjoying the process. As I calculated how many repeats per half I could do with the 5th ball, I realized I would be a repeat short. So I panicked for a hot second. And then I decided I should actually see how long the darn thing is. The first half was 42” long. And that was 3 or 4 repeats shy of what I thought I was going to. I’m short and there’s no way an 84” long Aran weight wide scarf/wrap thing is ever going to work on me. So I’m going to rip out the last few repeats, get the first half closer to 35” and begin the second half. It is so pretty and I’ve clearly been enjoying knitting on it, so I’ll take it.

I ripped back two repeats on the first half this morning to get it to about 35”. I started the second half tonight and am ready to get this back to the somewhat mindless body repeat pattern.
01-27-2017
Finished the edging and am working through the first repeat of the second half.
01-30-2017
Just shy of having 5 repeats done on the second half.
02-03-2017
8 repeats done.

Had life not gotten to me, I would’ve finished. But I’m about two rows away, some grafting and some weaving in of ends away from getting there. Tomorrow.

Done! I do plan on gently blocking this to let it all relax, but it’s all grafted together with ends woven in. I can already tell that this is going to become a favorite of mine. It’s the PERFECT size and oh so cozy. Too bad January and February have been almost exclusively in the 50s, because I would wear this every day if I could.
