166 rounds: 6-50-4-46-4-50-6 + i-cord edging and steeking
Final Garter Mods: A) I only did 4 rnds of garter stitch after Chart C rather than 6 because the last two rnds of Chart C give the visual appearance of one garter ridge. An additional 4 rnds gives a total of three ridges, matching the beginning. B) On the last round (Color B), sl the twisted purl st wyib. This gives a better appearance with the i-cord BO mod below.
i-cord Bind Off Mod: I slightly tweaked the i-cord bind off to keep the visual lines with the color A columns along the edge of the steek as follows:
first RS row of BO instructions:
(RS): sl1, k27, then with DPN: ^k2, ssk, sl 3 sts back to ln; rep from ^ until 2 sts before last marker is reached; sl following three sts (2 Color A sts and twisted purl st) onto second dpn, fold dpns so the first and last sts are across from one another (see photo -- INSERT PHOTO OF THIS) and kitchener.
i-cord Bind Off SSK Note: If you’re like me and normally do your ssk’s so that the second stitch is slipped as if to purl, return to the more traditional method where both stitches are slipped individually as if to knit. This ensures that the last row of knitting isn’t twisted once the i-cord is done.

Finished with Chart A and I just love it! It’s so gratifying to watch the cables become a seamless loop.

I picked this up today now that my StartingPoint is finished. I’m just a few rounds from finishing Chart B.

One more round and I’ll be off to the i-cord bind off!

I got through one entire i-cord bind off, unpicked the provisional cast on and am partway through the second bind off. Looking good but the i-cord is killing my wrists.

The bind off is done and all I need to do is steek! I’d do that tonight if I didn’t want to get this soaked immediately afterwards, so that will have to wait for the weekend.

Steeking and blocking have commenced! The steeking was so much fun and crazy easy since there’s not reinforcing to do. Just grab your scissors and cut. It’s blocking now and I can’t wait to tie off the fringe and photograph the thing.
