I’m not sure why people keep feeling the need to comment about my experience with their own. My experience is my experience. No one can discount my experience. You can simply scroll by…however I leave these comments up, so future people considering this program can see how crazy this whole thing is. Anyway, there’s now more information in the comment section.

Buyer Beware! Well things did not go well. It really sucks if you get a newbie Co-Chair and all your friends get an experienced Co-Chair. Overall I wish I would’ve took the other reviews to heart on YouTube and Ravelry (especially thecuteone - she was right about them dragging things out. Finding more and more things, just when you think you have it done). This was a huge waste of time (hundreds of hours) and money for books, supplies, mailing. Also note, you need to know how to write and research at the college level, and knowing the MLA format would be helpful.

At least I got a refund on the program. We decided to part company and they refunded my money for Level 1 and all the other programs I enrolled. So if you’re unhappy, ask for a refund. Here’s a secret to life, everything is refundable. I once returned a family member’s custom prosthetic leg. wink

My family and knitting friends think this is a scam and I was duped. You’re not really a “Master Knitter” at the end of this…you’re a “Master Swatch Knitter.”

Look at how many people actually complete this project on here vs they sit “in progress” in perpetuity. How many people give them money and then the program goes unfinished? If your curious about where the money goes, TKGA’s tax return is available for public consumption from the IRS, since they are listed as a 501c3. They are registered in Plano, TX.

The fact is they write the articles and create all the content so they are feeding this beast…that’s another big clue. Maybe I was scammed, but what I realized about the whole experience is it really is meaningless. I knit beautiful things before and I’ll continue to knit beautiful things. When I checked out my co-chairs knitting, I saw gutters galore…so what the heck! When they complained about my contrast color after going on and on about using pastels another ugh! expressionless

Anyway, who gives a crap if someone says you’re a “Master Knitter.” Print your own certification up, it means the same thing. Life is too short for their crap. It’s just a guild. TKGA does a nice magazine and articles. They need to stick to that and exit the certification business as you can’t both publish the material and then certify people on it. It’s a conflict.

If you’re thinking about this and want to know anything specific before you sign up, let me know. However, if anyone contacts me to complain about my Raverly project page from TKGA or gets it removed or changed in anyway, I’ll release my entire Level 1 binder and all correspondence detailing my experiences for not just to view, but for download, so it will be out there forever.
