I love how this turned out. There is a mistake in it that an experienced knitter might notice if they stared too long (I’ll send cake to the first person who notices the mistake!).

I wish I’d thought to create a nice edge or add a few garter stitches at the edge. In future, if I make this again, I’ll slip the last stitch and knit into the back of the first stitch to create a nicer edge. Plus, I need to look into blocking wires :)

However, considering this is to commemorate a wedding and honour a marriage, the imperfections are just perfect, symbolising the imperfections in marriage that merely give flavor to the more beautiful whole.

I’m finished this - all but the blocking.

I’m going to block the square and then sew it onto card stock which will get mounted in a picture frame with the couple’s name and the date of their wedding underneath.

ETA: I mounted this using lots of sticky mounting squares along the edges on the back. The mounting squares are out of my scrapbooking supplies (that never get used) so they should be forgiving to the fabric.
