Notes

My favorite sweater yet! Great pattern, quick knit, soft & drapy yarn, flattering shape.
My 2021 objectives of sweaters & colorwork, and within a KAL - nice.

EDIT: the yarn quickly looked ‘old“ and pillls a lot. The sweater also became wider and especially longer, which hightened the problem with the big collar. I ended up adding a few rows of stockinette in the contrast collar, that helps. I will knit more from this designer, but not this yarn!

PATTERN is wonderfully clear and well written, a pleasure. Integrated a safety line before the yoke increases (and added a round of simple stockinette) - which I promptly needed after the first 10ish rows! I worked with a norwegian thimble (magically easy!). Colorwork needs some counting & concentration, I put a small stitch marker for each repeat which I find way easier to manage (after my big mistake in the beginning). I think I mixed up somthing with the different needles and ended up only using the smallest and the main size.
After the excitement of the yoke it’s all just stockinette, but knits up reasonably fast. I stoped the body a little before the length I want, considering it will (and really did!) lengthen with blocking and simply wearing.

YARN: The yarn is wonderfully soft, yet really not thick, I think this will make a sweater you can wear for a variety of temperatures, layered or not. The color contrast is good and I like the color combo: the soft and very warm nutbrown and the very fresh mintgreen. I used much less than calculated according to pattern, I have 3 balls left.

SIZE: I might have gone for the next smaller size I think. As it is it’s very slightly too big, but as it’s fine and dripy that’s ok. Only the neck I find a bit too open, for a sweater for warmer weather this is ok, I think 2 sizes down would have been better for me here.
