Quel projet pour mon seulement 2ème amigurumi! Une grosse vilaine araignée, en couleurs bien réelles, et puis toutes ces jambes, brrrr! J’ai eu du mal avec le modèle, déjà parce que je n’ai pas l’habitude des modèles en français, et puis je m’interroge vraiment sur l’exactitude du modèle (en français en tout cas). Le tricot va vite, les finitions sont le pire. Mais l’araignée rend bien … elle est affreuse, lol.

Pour le céphalothorax il y a une erreur, 1er rang il faut tricoter 14 et non 15 mailles (vérifier avec le rang retour qu’il y a autant de mailles sur chaque côté du milieu des 22 mailles) … je l’ai fait 3 fois en tout! J’ai un doute aussi sur les jambes dont seul la 1ere partie est en jersey et les 2 autres en point mousse, alors que sur les images on dirait qu’ils sont en jersey partout. J’y ai ajouté des fils de fer (de loisirs créatifs) avec boucles de chaque côté, mais qui n’arrêtent pas de sortir alors que j’ai essayé tout pour les fixer avec le fil. J’ai fait le bas du céphalothorax en une autre couleur que le haut, ca rend bien. En revanche les 2 jambes en couleurs mixtes sont bofs … je n’avais plus assez de laine (j’ai tricoté en double fil).
La seule partie vraiment difficile était le bas du céphalothorax avec toutes les jambes et “pincers” attachés, mais il ne s’agit là que de quelques rangs. Tricoter 8 jambes était long et un peu ennuyeux (et flippant parce que je n’ai jamais bien compris la construction!). J’ai fait les yeux en gris et ajouté un petit peu d’un fil argenté au centre de chaque oeuil.

What a project for my only 2nd ever amigurumi! A big horrible spider, in real life colors, and all those legs, urgh! I did not enjoy the pattern, firstly because I rarely knit in French (is so unpractical!) and then I have real concerns there are problems in (at least) the French version. The knitting is quite easy and fun, it’s the finishing that is fiddly and long. The result is nasty …. just as Nils wanted it!

Yarn held in double threat.
For the head/body part there was a mistake (I knitted it twice before making a schema and understanding the mistake!). It should read “sl1, k14, w&t” instead of “…15…”. A small difference but that makes it perfectly non aligned and thus leaves the knitting impossible to join for the rest. I am also not sure for the legs … the first joint is in stockinette but the 2nd and 3rd in garter stitch? Did look like all stockinette in the pictures. I added souple metal sticks in the legs with a little loop at each end. Even though I spent a lot of time trying to fix them as much as possible, they stitck out of the knitting. I knitted the underside of the head/body in another color, that looks cool. The 2 bicolored legs don’t though, I had to make them because I didn’t have enough anthracite yarn.
The only very very fiddly part was the underside of the head/body with the legs and pincers attached, but it’s only 6 rows. Knitting 8 legs was repetitive (and flippant because even after 8 I could hardly understand what I was doing!). I made the eyes in grey and added a little bit of glittery yarn inside each eye.
