I will swatch today on 3.5mm
The swatch is having a soak in cool water with white vinegar making sure it doesn’t bleed.
The Vaerbitt - yarn brand - Hillesvag Tinde
is OSLO - Pelssau wool, looks nice with the Grey
Swatch has dried to 27sts = 4” so will knit size 3 to get size 2 (no bleeding)
Start
Only knitting 1 short row on the neck, don’t want a high neck at the back
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3S9cl47PYw
Neck and body - used - 3.25mm
Fairisle - 3.5mm
No body short rows, just knitted the yoke to the length I like. (10.5”) measured on the diagonal.
After separating for the sleeves knitted 20rows, slipped sts onto WY, tried it on, too big, knitting size 3 to get size 2 did not work with this yarn, so ripped back and reduced the sts for the body.
My body is inbetween size 3 and 2 (sts) with this yarn
Knitted 6” (15cm) plain before starting the lower chart, I flipped the chart so the flower will be upright.
Then - 2 rows MC
Next - 1 row K1 / CC, K2 / MM across
Next - 2 rows MC
Rib - 3.25m
Lower rib after 22rnds, cast off with size 3.5mm
With my yarn the purl cast off was flipping up a little so ripped that out plus the knit row, cast off in rib.
Rib - 2.5”
3/4 Sleeves - 3.25mm cn
Started with 90sts
Working with a 15” (38cm) cn
when fewer sts changed to 9” (23cm) cn
Decreased down to 69sts
Then
K2 MC, K1 CC around
Knit 2rnds MC
Rib k2, p1 x 22rnds
Cast off in rib
Before blocking and after blocking
Neck across top 8” (20cm) - 10” (25.5cm)
Length 21” (53.5cm) - 21.5” (54.5)
Sleeve 11” (28cm) three quarter length - same
Body width underarms across 21” (53cm) same
Knitted 2 rows MM before and after the dot line then started the rib to add more length.
MC - used 235g
CC - used 70g
I duplicated the CC sts on R38/39 bottom of the stem
I love my Polina the yarn blocked great no bleeding, I added white vinegar to cool water and let it soak for 20mins, then a lovely wash.
