27th March - I have never knitted with linen before.

Cast on 90sts with 4.5mm
Rib - 6 rounds

No short rows

Change to 5mm - k5 rounds

Yoke, added beads

2nd - April - finished yoke, now for the sleeve split.

Back 56, WY 54, Front 112, WY 54, Back 56 = 332sts

Picked up 18sts under arm = sleeve 72sts
Body = 224sts

Going to use this I cord finish, the last part of this video shows how to finish an Icord in the round.

6th April - started my last ball, hope it’s enough

7th April - knitted to 7” under the arm then
knitted - K1,P1 for one round just before the Icord to help it from curling up.

Started the 3stitch Icord bind off with 4mm

Sleeves - 4mm
72sts -
R1 - K
R2 - K1, P1
start 3 stitch Icord

9th April - I have read Cotton/Linen can shrink, but soaking in cold water helps, so that’s what I am doing first.

Cold Water soak 30mins
Wool soak 30mins
Softner soak 15mins

Rolled in clean towel, pressed excess water out.

Hung out to dry for 40mins, very windy but sunny, will keep my eye on it, also put 2 pieces of paper towel folded, and folded again into a third and placed on the edge of the shoulders of the coat hanger to help the drape of the sleeves. I don’t want a sharp edge were the top hangs off the coat hanger.

Putting it on this wide shoulder coat hanger helps the neck to stretch, which is what I want.

Will bring it in when it’s half dry and place on a towel and block to size, otherwise it would take forever to dry flat.

40mins in the Spanish sunshine and it’s 80% dry, blocking flat now to finish.

This top has blocked really good.

Used just under 3 skeins
