Finished! Love it, love it, love it!!! It is a bit bigger than I planned, more like a beret. I might keep this for myself and make a smaller version for Vincent.

This hat looks much more difficult to make than it actually is. the construction techinque is brilliant! This is a second hat I am making from this pattern. It is sort of an emergency project I want to finish by this weekend and sent to to my brother along with other things for my dad. I don’t have pics of the first one. I considered using different colors and decided i sort of like the original palette and only used gray instead of white. My red is more of a burgundy. this hat is so much fun to make!
Modifications: My pattern is one-size-fits-all version and calls for casting on 75 stitches. The hat i previously made (with same yarn) came out just abit on a small size. I added 2 extra ridges per section resulting in casting 91 stitches. this will also make the crown little deeper, but i can always make the band narrower if necessary.
