I am only using the textured stitch from the original pattern. It is very easy yet very effective.
The yarn is heavenly soft. I don’t think this is actually a good yarn for socks; it is not sturdy and strong enough to wear well. But it is fun to work with! soft and yummy, the color of buttercream.

Casted on 72 stitches and knitted plain for 7 rounds. Made picots by k2tog yo all around.
Knitted another 7 rounds plain.
Joined the cast on edge with live stitches.
Knitted 2 rows plain and started the textured pattern.
Heel flap started after a plain knit row. Knitted on 36 stitches (1/2 of the total number of stitches) with 3 stiches garter edge on each side. After completing 18 garter ridges knitted one more plain row, turned and started the heel.
Heel turn- started on the wrong side, ended with 20 stitches on the right side.
Picked up 18 stitches along the gusset plus 2 more in the corners.
Foot decreases - my intention was to decrease to 70 stitches, but somehow i ended up with 69.
Toes decreases started with 35 stitches on top and 34 on the bottom. Decreased every other row till had 18 stitches on top. then every row till had 10 on the top and 10 on the bottom.
62 g of yarn left after completing the first sock.
