Notes

I have started this project sometimes in early fall this year. I do not remember the exact date. Strangely, this beautiful pattern called Mosaic Plaid Wrap is not yet in Revelry data base, although other patterns by the same designer are.
The wrap was displayed on a mannequin in the Wool and Company store and I fell in love with it. Not that I need another wrap! LOL! anything but!
The store sample used Hedgehog Fibers Sporty Singles (HFSS for short) yarn, which is quite pricey. I substituted with my favorite - Malabrigo Sock yarn. I actually liked their color combination; therefore, I tried to mimic that as close as possible. I also added another contrasting color - the dark greenish blue.

My substitutions: / Pattern recommended:
MC1- Malabrigo 350 Gepetto / HFSS Cereal - (light background)
MC2 - Malabrigo 121 Marte / HFSS Truffle - (dark accent)
CC - Malabrigo 353 Tin Soldier / HFSS Rosewood (reddiesh medium hue).
CC2 - Madelinetosh Bluestau

I did a provisional cast on with waste yarn. I also added 20 extra stitches to make the wrap wider - cast on 148, not 128. I also intend to make this wrap longer. we will see.
so far I have knitted about 19” - 3 full repeats + about 3/4 of the 4th.
Size 5 needles for the body.

I love how it is coming out. It is an easy, yet satisfying knit, good for social or tv knitting. It will probably take me awhile to finish.

My goodness! Over a year has passed! I am back to this project determined now to finish it. I have to re-learn the steps here, especially that I have changed couple of things in the design. After this is done I will try to finish yet another project. Only then will I allow myself a reward of casting on something new.

I have a total ankle replacement surgery coming up in a week, therefore simple projects like this one (no shaping, no tricky stitches) will be ideal to work on durian the post-op recovery.

I finally finished this beautiful wrap couple of days ago. I originally intended to do 2 or even 3 I-cord edgings in different colors but gave up on this idea. I took forever to make just one… which btw was a 4-stitch attached I-cord using size 4 needles.
I have not yet washed the wrap. just lightly steamed.
I recently had an ankle surgery and cannot yet freely walk, therefore I will wait with wet blocking and thus better photos till i am fully mobile.

In overall, I love this wrap, but it took forever! It is not for the novice, but it is not difficult for someone with some mosaic/slipped stitch experience.
