I started with the instructions for size 2, but the little girl is a bit skinny so I added length to the body, so she can wear it with 3/4 years. I worked a total of 40 rounds in purl from pattern to hem.

For the neck I went down a size down instead of half a size, as recomended. I was just extra carefull to not thighten the bind off and keep it strechey enough for the head to go through.
