I knit an entire mitten before realizing that it was child sized. When I knit with the needle size given at the gauge given, it was super small - not even a woman’s narrow.
I reknit with size 4 needles and it was much better.

I used HiyaHiya 12” circulars and LOVE them. The only problem was that the nicely pointy tips poked a hole in my index finger - ouch! I ordered Polka-Dots to use after that.
