This design has a new-to-me neckline construction. I had several inches knit then could see my mistake. I knew it would bother me to leave it. I ripped it all back and started over. Starting over 6/10/23.
Kit = semi solid for yoke 600yds, gradient body 800yards, 2 each sleeves 300yards, 500yds=130gms Killarney, total for yoke+body=1400yds/364gms
50% approved 6/25/23 1069yards/278gms
Lessons learned on this project:
Read carefully and make sure to understand directions rather than assuming I know what it means and plunging in.
Adjust yo direction to match right leaning and left leaning decrease combinations. It was too far into the lace panel to rip and start over once I saw left leaning decrease/yo combinations were looser than right leaning decrease/yo combinations.

Finished, blocked, and photographed! I’m pleased.
I’ve learned a lot from this experience. I think I would’ve abandoned it if it weren’t for HPKCHC. Planning is key and I’ll take the time to thoroughly read and plan for any obstacle in the future. I’ve always been one to jump in then make changes on the fly or to completely change everything if I hit a snag. It was an excellent experience to follow through on the original plan. I think this sweater will be worn often.
Finishing note: This oversized body and skinny 3/4 sleeved sweater used all of the yoke (solid) and body (gradient) skeins, but only about 2/3 of each sleeve skein. There’s enough to make mittens of the remaining gradients sleeve skeins, 38g each, if used as a half of a two color motif.
