I received absolutely beautiful yarn expertly spun by Boogie as a gift. I wanted to use it so it would be used to it’s fullest as a fluffy, colorful yarn of only 80ish yards. I decided to make super chunky mitts. I cast on 24 stitches, k1 p1 for 10 rows, knit plain for 2 rows, made a standard thumb gusset for 10 rows for a stitch gain of 10 stitches (34 stitches total). I put the thumb on a holder and knit 5 rows on 24 stitches. K1 p1 for 5 rows and bind off. Pick up two stitches from the hand at the spot where the thumb was put on a holder and knit them together. Pick up and knit around the thumb for a total of 11 stitches. Knit 2 rows. K2tog then k1 p1 for 4 rows and bind off. Use any ends to close gaps and finish off. These took a total TOTAL (:-O ) of about two hours to make. What a fabulous why to highlight nice handspun! Thank you, Amy! Please forgive the “hold your camera phone as far as possible” blurry photo. The squoosh factor and fabulous color combos are through the roof.
