Although the hippo gets major style points for cuteness, the pattern was a bit sparse with directions about the features. Changes: I used 18 mm eyes instead of 12. For the toes I used 5 DC bobble stitches on row three of the leg with scs between them instead of fiddling with all those sewn-on toes. The ear pattern rows seemed too many to match the photo so I reduced the sc rounds to just three. The author didn’t specify size but mine came out about 11 inches.

The yard has a soft hand but is a bit fuzzy and splits more than I’d like. The odd patch of yellow in my photo is a yellow belly specified by my client.
