Started with the eyes. As fas as I can see, only the eye surfaces are actually visible, so I didn’t bother with the grafting.
I started with 2,5mm needles (karbonz DPN), but halfway realised this is too loose (the rec. sizes for this yarn are 2,5 to 3,5), so I switched to 2,25 mm bamboo DPN.
I picked up loops from the CO edge and did a 3 needl BO.

I sewed up all the tentacles at once, for consistency (which doesn’t come naturally). I used rust yarn for the long ones and garnet for the short ones, since I wanted a bit of colour in them. Having bound them off pretty tight, they curl on their own somewhat. I will not add wire since it is for a baby.

Assembly was fun! siphon, lower hood done! I love this.

Finished the shell… phew!! that was difficult actually. Well, I haven’t grafted it yet, I am gonna wash and block it first, hopefully the stitches even out a bit.

Wow! I had like 20 stitches left to sew it up and finish it but it took me months to do that!
Erik has begun grasping and paying attention to toys so it was time to finally give him his Nautilus. I will try to take some better pictures in daylight.
