This is to be a sweater for SVH and it will be my own design (!). He wants a simple sweater with a cable or some sort of panel front middle and on sleeves.
I’ve bought the book Vogue Knitting “The Ultimate Stitch Dictionary” for inspiration.
Swatched on needles 4 mm and 3,5 mm. Need to wash and block before deciding on needle size.

Swatch after washing:
- ndl 3.5 mm: 21 sts x 16 rows = 10 cm x 5 cm
- ndl 4.0 mm: 21 sts x 19 rows = 10 cm x 5 cm
Both in stockinette.
The 4mm ndl gives the best result.
Next step is to swatch the pattern…

How many sts to CO:
According to swatch 21 sts = 10cm.
1cm = 2.1 st.
128 cm(desired width) x 2.1 = 268.8 sts.
As 268.8 sts is not a workable number of sts for the bottom pattern (2k/2p), I am starting with 272 sts (=129.5 cm).

Armholes will be 54 cm total, 27 cm for back and 27 cm front
Neck circ. is 48 cm total

Sweater finished, meaning all knitting done! Tomorrow I’ll weave in the tails and after that: blocking… The end is nigh!

All done, sweater is now drying! SVH is heppy with it :-)
