1-14-19 - wow, I didn’t do a very good job with these notes! happy to report the sweater is done, it fits, and i LOVE it! I was worried when I got to the end of the body that I would run out of yarn. I knit the two sleeves and my knitting group assured me I’d be fine. They were right. I ended up with 3 leftover skeins (matching mittens? matching headband?) The finished size is a smidge bigger than the schematic - and I love it. (need to measure the gauge for future reference).
The ONLY change I made to the design was to decrease 8 stitches on the sleeves - I worked them every 15 rounds. I have chicken arms and that little bit of shaping helps. ALSO, I complained mightily about the ‘I-cord for days“ … but it does make for a fine finish and I’m glad I hung in for it.
12-26-18 - past row 70 on the body … this the perfect knit for enjoying twinkle lights and conversation!
11-27-18 - Love Ambah’s chart! I’m still working on the yoke (through row 48 … 220+ stitches!) and hope to get to the sleeve separation soon. Just about ready to join the 3rd ball (love that this yarn spit splices beautifully … finishing will be easy!)
pattern calls for 23 st/36 rows over 5 inches. mine is a smidge looser. will knit the 34 to get about a 35. fingers crossed! turned out to be 36-ish … and perfect!
yarn from my mother-in-law’s stash. not at all a color I’d choose for myself, but I think it will be perfect for a “statement coat”.
