worked mostly as written, except:
used a single color
in place of the backward loop cast-on, I made a YO and worked it through the back loop on the following row
one round of single crochet around the finished piece (1:1 on the long and bind-off edges, every other row on the short edge)

finished ~17” deep at the triangle tip and 62” along the long edge
