7-4-17 - DONE! #fourdaykalWIN! (it does still need a soak but given the 100% humidity right now it might well be the weekend before it dries, so I’m calling it finished now :-)

6-30-17 - ready to go - I’m planning to cast on tomorrow … and finish Tuesday. #fourdaysweater :-)

Now that I’m done I can honestly say … it’s a great pattern and I’ll certainly knit it again! but I don’t think I’d knit it in four days ;-) and if I ever decide to knit another sweater in four days, it’s going to be wool, not cotton!

also, it was a lot of fun to share the experience on Instagram - the support and comments were wonderful!

7/1 - cast on and worked to an inch or so past the underarm split.
7/2 - finished the body and started picking up the neckband.
7/3 - finished the neckband and half of the 1st sleeve.
7/4 - finished!

Days 2 and 3 were the hardest - not sure I could’ve done the ribbing on the body and the neckband on the same day …. I had a night’s rest after the body and I still had to ice my shoulder after the neckband.

Mods/Notes
blocked and hung gauge on 7’s is 5st/6.5 rows per inch. plan to follow instructions for size 32, plus 4 add’l rows. will add 2 stitches to each front and 2 to the back to get ~33” finished piece. will cast on 2 stitches under each arm on sleeve split row and eliminate the M1’s on the body.

knit the body for an extra inch (81 rows) before I transitioned to the ribbing. worked out perfectly to knit 19 rows of ribbing and bind off after row 23 of the chart.

picked up 10 stitches/13 rows (3/3/4) on the front edges (1:1 along the sleeve and back cast on edges); worked 18 rows of ribbing and bound off on the wrong side.

for the sleeves, I had 58 stitches to start (picked up a stitch for those two I cast on when I split the sleeves and body); worked 84 rounds, decreases on rounds 12, 21, 30, 39, 48, 57, 66, 75, 84 to end up with 40 stitches. 18 rounds of ribbing and then bound off.

yarn amounts:
body - 216 g
neckband - 58 g
sleeves - 46 g each
366 g total

finally, a note about the yarn - this is my 3rd time using Neve, and the first time I had issues with the chain construction. Not sure if it was trying to knit fast, or the needles I was using (across the entire project, I used Knitters Pride, Clover Bamboo and Addi Lace) but I kept snagging the chain. Several times, I had to drop down stitches to try to get the yarn back into one piece when I noticed a snag on a previous row. Once the chain snags, it’s really hard to get it together again. I managed to get most of the snags worked to the inside … but I’m a little worried about how the sweater will wear.
