I have 8 colors … tweaking the 7-color design to swap out 2 rows of each color so I can use all 8. Also, going down a hook size; added 10 chains to the foundation row to compensate in width and I have plenty of yarn to add a 9th sequence if necessary (I did). Glad I added the repeats in both directions. Washed and dried and the finished afghan is 50x60 - just like the pattern says. I had bits and bobs left, so no way I could’ve made it any bigger. Super happy with how it turned out!!
