Notes

For the cowl I used my H hook and loosely made 84 foundation double crochet stitches and I used alternating front and back post double crochet for 20 rounds.

On the 21st round I switched to the J hook (for the body of the poncho) and started my increase rounds in single crochet, completing a sc, ch-2, sc in the 21st st and the 63rd stitch. I worked each round by increasing in the same location and when I reached my third skein of Caron Cakes, I began alternating front and back post stitches once again with increases of dc, ch-2, dc in the peak. I was able to get 12 rounds of fpdc/bpdc at the end with a mere 1/8” of yarn to spare!

Of all the ponchos I have made this fall, this one is my favorite. I love the colors and the way it feels. The yarn is very pleasant to work with, I only hope that I have better luck washing it than others have had.
