E-wrap cast on 51 needles
2 rows stockinette
then shortrowing
row 4 and 5: knit only 48 needles
row 6 and 7: knit only 45 needles
go on like this until only 3 needles on the right are knit
then knit all needles for two rows

knit 13 segments and do a three-needle-bind-off to close the circle
Finish by hand knitting:
Gather 17 stitches from each segment along the border of the circle = 221 stitches on a circular needle, in the round knit two rows st st. Decrease stitches from 221 to 158, that is 5 stitches per segment within 6 further rows, then 13 rows 1:1 ribbing for border.
