Notes

The first three photos are updated photos, 7 months after I initially finished this knit. It is truly a grow with me piece. I think we’ll get at least a couple of years of wear out of it.

I love the look of round-yoke tops and dresses for little girls, so of course I had to try my hand at designing my own version.

I decided to do a two-color cobnut stitch around the yoke, and picked a rustic single-ply yarn to really play up the textured dots. I’m really happy with how the yoke looks. I highly recommend choosing a cc that’s a bit heavier than the mc. Worked with two different yarns, the dots look wonderfully dimensional.

For the body, I used gentle A-line shaping and knit until the length hit at mid-calf on my long-legged girl.

I’m waffling between one pocket or two. I think I may settle with one, because two may be a bit too much on the front of this dress.
