This was such a fun pattern to knit ! I am definitely getting a taste for Japanese patterns.

It took a while to decode the pattern, but the only thing you really need to remember is that the numbers on the charts represent the following

Number of Stitches/Number of Rows/Number of repeats.

As this was my first Japanese garmet, I planned out the shaping before I started knitting. Workings are here.

Possibly the most challenging thing about this pattern is keeping the pattern repeat neat whilst working the increases. I worked the sleeves 2aat to make sure they were identical, and I didn’t change my mind about how to work the increases in to the pattern.

The shoulders were worked with short rows, and joined using a 3 needle bind off. The collar was worked in the round to eliminate a seam, and bound off using a sewn tubular bind off.

I was a few yards away from running out of yarn on this project. For future reference I would say it needs about 550 - 600m to complete the smallest size.
