Playing with self striping yarns.

Swatched and did some maths to work out that in stitch pattern on 4mm needles with 153 sts the colours will repeat every two rows giving me perfect stripes.

Alternating two different colourways of Felici - Candy Shoppe and Spring Blooms.

Felici comes in balls, but I caked my yarn first to check the colour repeats both for knots and to minimise waste when joining in a new ball. I’ve labelled up the ball bands in the order they will be used !

The provisional cast on in a light grey is a happy accident that it looks a fab contrast colour. I’m going to stash dive for a similar purple toned grey to work the final border.

Centre panel complete. I have decided that I would like the outer border to also be worked in KP stroll or similar yarn, so hibernating this until I have enough spends to make a KP order !

This hibernated for longer than I had planned as I just couldn’t come up with a matching colourway for the border. Then I thought, If I worked the border in four long strips rather than in the round, I could just carry on with the Felici in Garter Stripes.

The cast off will be done in one colour which means I have russian joined 4 sections of the mid green colourway together to make enough yarn to knit and cast off 800+ stitches
