For Autumn I wanted to make miss a vintage style slouchy long-line cardigan to throw on over dresses.

When the test call came out for Cullen Shores, I immediately fell in love with the texture and shawl collar of Danskknits design. To get the look I had in mind, I needed to work a size up from usual, and add additional length. (I knit actual 29” to fit 25.5” chest) The underarm seam measures 20” for plenty of growing room and plenty of slouch.

My gauge was spot on, however the project was looking snug on the needles. On the needles the ribbing pulls the work in lots. After a soak the fabric relaxes right out with no real need for aggressive blocking.

Depending on what size you chose to knit and how firm you are with blocking this could make an equally cute form fitting jacket as it does a slouchy coatigan. I strongly encourage you to play about with gauge and sizing with this design as it has lots of possibilities !

The belt is my own addition. Cast on 12 stitches work in rib pattern slipping the first stitch on every row pwise for a neat edge.

As always I can’t resist making the ribbing bands deep and chunky. I worked for 3” positioning my buttonholes at row 9 of 18.

Even with the additional length and belt I still had 31g of yarn leftover !

Body = 275g
Collar and Button Bands = 80g
Belt = 42g
