This pattern has it all lace, beads cables ….. and it is expertly charted - an absolute joy to knit. There is quite a lot going on, but the repeat falls in 4 row blocks so it is actually quite easy to memorise.

There is little resting in this project - as for the majority of the piece both RS and WS rows are lace. RS rows have mini cables or twists which are best worked without a cable needle, and every 12th row there are some beads added in to the mix too ! ( The pattern is written assuming the beads will be placed as you go along, not pre strung)

There are lots of different options for shawl or scarf sizes - I’ve worked the instructions for the medium semi circular shawl (3 Repeats of chart 3) and it is looking to be a BIG shawl.

If you are looking for a project with lots to keep you busy and entertained then this is absolutely it.

The yarn is Merino 1ply by Lichen & Lace. Bronte at Loop London picked out two light skeins with lots of green and purple for me. The colours are expertly blended and the yarn is like knitting with clouds.

Loved every minute of this project - yarn and pattern.
