Browsing through MDK’S March Madness picks,
Antonia’s beautiful and simple pattern leaped out at me - begging to be knit with the Wollelfe yarn that was sat in my stash.
I have slightly less yardage than suggested in the pattern, so I am working the shawl in reverse - starting with long blocks, gradually getting shorter and shorter.
If I do run out of yarn cutting a few short repeats is going to be less noticeable than missing the 74 rows of the final block.
The yarn is absolutely lush - it feels like much more than 20% cashmere. Its a complete dream to work with, which is a good thing - because if you (like me) decide it is for some reason a really good idea to knit 78” in seed stitch, the yarn had better be pretty epic !

Blocked and photographed.
Completed the project with approximately 5g to spare.
All the same I am glad I started with the long blocks and worked towards the shorter blocks - it helped keep me going as the project got longer and longer and the repeats thankfully got shorter and shorter.
This is quite possibly one of my favourite projects ever. The yarn is just lush - the blend is 20 % cashmere, but it feels like 100%. As for the colourway WollelfeYarns has done a fantastic job - the gradient is seamless and the transitions simply magical.
I think this is definitely a case of when a yarn and a pattern meet each other and are meant to be together.
