For the super slouchy version, at the conclusion of step 6, I had 116 stitches (which is correct according to the pattern.) At the end of step 7, I should have had 132 stitches, but I found myself with 135. I thought I was paying fairly close attention, but obviously I introduced a few extra increases by mistake. To compensate, I introduced 1 decrease per row for rows 2, 3 & 4 of the included chart. I do not have enough knitting experience to know whether this will have any negative effects on the overall piece, but I can’t see it being a problem.

Despite making a couple of mistakes that are visible in the finished product, I was very pleased with how this turned out, especially given this was my first project.

My head has a 24” circumference. This hat is more tight-fitting than “super slouchy”, which I actually like.
