9/5/14: I started the first contrast rows yesterday. I like the look of wider rows, so I’m going to do rows of 20, instead of 6.
9/17/14: I’m still working the increase rows, which are taking a while. I don’t think I want to do all of the increase rows for the large pattern, so I might just work to the same number of stitches per sleeve as the medium.
9/23/14: I was finally able to slip off the stitches for the sleeves 2 days ago. I re-read the pattern and decided to follow directions for the large since I wasn’t sure the armpit would have as much space as I would need. After the arms came off, I was out of yarn and needed to wind my next ball. I did that today and am continuing with the side seams as well in the pattern.
10/16/14: I have not been progressing much on this project as of late. Some other projects have been calling out to me and I just started a new job that is pretty exhausting and have been sick too. No excuses though. I should be finishing my 5th stripe today or tomorrow. I am also trying to plan when I will need more black yarn. I know I will be running out by the time I touch the sleeves and I don’t want to make this short sleeved.
11/3/14: I’ve become side tracked with smaller and more fun and exciting projects for a while, so not much progress. I did try this on and took some pictures to rejuvenate my initial excitement about this project. We shall see if it helps!
1/12/15: This project hasn’t taken off much since October. I feel it is going to be much too large, not because my gauge is off but because I think it is just too large for my body. I am quite tall and thinner. In retail stores, I opt for the larger sizes for length, but not width. I think I may be frogging this whole thing to re-start from the beginning. I still really love this pattern, but I am also re-thinking the stripes pattern as well. We will see.
1.14.15: Project frogged.
Was at least 2 in too big under both arms. Glad to be restarting with a smaller size, but frustrated I had so much done just to rip it back out. At least I was not nearly finished. Hope to be happier with the next caramel I try!
