Notes

I found this in Leisure Arts Birthstone book when i was looking for a pattern to make an afghan for a friend. It is titled Pearl for June. I tested it out in these red, blue and green colors and liked it so much i kept it for myself and made my friend another one. LOL

This was my first big crochet project after i taught myself to crochet in the 90’s.

In the first picture it is obviously the one on the right. The background is a cherry red and the bubble rows alternate with a medium blue and a heathered teal/green. The green is most obvious in this picture, it looks almost blue in the second pic. It’s beautiful, i love it.

11-26 - I just looked up the colors in wikipedia color chart - according to it the colors are closest to “Persian” or “Egyptian Blue” and a heather “Fern Green and a Persian Red.” What’s w/ the middle-eastern terms? LOL

I then used that same pattern to make many baby blankets, the first one being for my first grandchild in 2002. That is the blanket on the left in the picture, see project “Nickolas’ baby blanket.” I just finished a second for the second grandson in Aug. (Aug 2010, I’m making sev’l for the hospital nursery.)

I recommend the pattern, it is relatively easy to make. You can see an all white version on Carol Prior’s site titled Pearl - June.
