2012-10-07: So using a worsted weight yarn takes 212 grams, which (despite each ball being 50 grams) was slightly less than 4 skeins. Either I got some lucky skeins from Ranita, or there was a lot of dirt in the shawl before I blocked it (which, since it’s traveled several thousand miles with me this summer, is not impossible).

I also have another quibble with the way the pattern is written. I’m pretty confident I counted right with my decreases, which has you doing the border repeat a non-integer number of times. This caused me to second-guess myself, and recount my stitches several times.

Post-blocking the shawl is 61 1/2 inches long (so am I!), and 9 to 16 inches deep.

2012-07-21: For a paid pattern, the instructions could be better. Once I figured out what she was saying (which involved two rips), I could see what her instructions were asking me to repeat, but they could have been written out more clearly, and then I wouldn’t have had the aforementioned two rips.

Yarn is yummy. Would recommend.
