Notes

I had this yarn in my stash from when I bought a whole bunch of Noro on closeout specials right around the time I retired 8 years ago.

With a silent auction coming up for the auditioned chorale I sing with, I decided to knit an item for the silent auction at an upcoming gala since my fellow knitters have admired my knitting.

I picked a pattern I thought would work with the yarn I had on hand and would be a fast and easy knit. I adapted the pattern to the yarn I had.

I knit the smallest size (36) with heavier yarn and smaller needles than called for, and the resulting gauge worked out with dimensions for the 4th size (about 47 inches) so I used the lengths for that size.

When the pandemic postponed the gala, the sleeves grew to 3/4 length and I added pockets, which I thought would be a selling point!

You can see the short row shaping at the shoulders because of the self striping Noro yarn. I borrowed the pocket technique from the Pitch sweater I recently finished.

The gala has now been postponed and then cancelled. So the sweater is in a bag until it gets rescheduled once we can all gather again and celebrate.
